Although the Advanced 'Combination Bracelet' class is almost rocket-science, several students finished theirs in class. Here are 3 of them, Gwen, Mary and Tammy (left to right).

It is so nice to have the owners of the company take an active interest in what we are doing together. Alec became my underpaid assistant in San Diego - many thanks!!!!

Snacktime is a great way to keep energy levels up as each class day is 9 hours long (but includes a really nice lunch).

Wire-Sculpture Workshops 2010 ~ 1
Traveling around the country to teach traditional wire jewelry techniques with the Wire-Sculpture team is a lot of fun. Our first session was in Dallas and last weekend we were in San Diego. For me, sometimes my travel schedule is grueling, but I get to meet and work with some awesome people!

Springtime in SE Tennessee ~ 5
While I was walking around the yard checking the plants, Lucky kept me company. She has become the best dog! Hard to imagine that someone had abused and then abandoned her, but she's ours now and we are all so very happy!!

With the wisteria and red bud in full bloom, I had to make Suzie pose when we got home from Philly. This is the butterfly garden, containing a variety of butterfly bushes, old fashioned lilac, passion flower vines, zinnias, other flowering bushes and ornamental grasses.

This is one of the fish pond, which was made from all recycled materials (two bathtubs and a fiberglass dye tank). Yes it contains gold fish that are now large enough to fillet!

In my flower class (as happens a LOT) two young women met for the first time and became immediate good friends. (It's amazing how much jewelry makers have in common, besides the obvious.)

Saturday's long class was to make a prong pendant that will fit about any shape or size cut stone. Each student needed to be able to work with half-hard square wire befor registering, to be able to create actual prongs in a tension type setting. We had a great class - again, many thanks to Suzie for anticipating my every move.

Friday evenings' class was what I call a beginners (although it covers a lot more than just the basics)called 'Geode Slab Pendant'. Each student used a freeform, different shaped and sized geode slab and learned how to create a framed pendant with it. Most of these folks had never touched square wire before and all of them left wearing their new creation! (I do have to tell you that without my wonderful assistant, Suzanne Hollingsworth, this class would have taken longer than 3 hours! Thanks so very much Suzie!!)

2010 Bead Fest WIRE ~ 1
I really enjoy my Philly classes, as I get to visit and work with many students who have become good friends (and sometimes underpaid assistants) over the years. This class, 'Triple Stone wonderful' was an advanced designer session, where each student choose from a selection of triple stone groups (each contained a cab, 5mm round cut stone and a pear CZ) and then worked to create one-of-a-kind pendants in class. (Hummm, someone skipped out before the photo!)
